Universities and colleges are not just institutions of education; they are hubs of growth, learning and personal development. Graduating from one of these institutions is a significant milestone, but what happens next? How do graduates navigate the real world and apply the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired during their academic journey? To shed light on this topic, DPGA recently had the privilege of interviewing an accomplished alumna, Ms. Mrunal Tamhankar.

Ms. Tamhankar completed her IGCSE from DPGA in 2017, finishing top of her class as well as winning the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for being the World Topper in International Mathematics. With her family, she relocated to Shanghai and graduated from IBDP, again finishing at the top of her class. In 2019, she moved to London by herself to pursue her integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s course in Chemistry at Imperial College. Later, she completed her degree scoring exceptionally well. To continue with her scientific adventures, she decided to pursue a PhD. After receiving multiple offers, she decided to stay at her alma mater for her PhD, fully supported by the Wilkinson Scholarship.

On 8th September, 2023, students from IBDP Vedika Pawar and Tanvi Agarwal interviewed Ms Tamhankar about her academic feats, her journey across different countries and how it affected her personal and professional growth as a student. Throughout the interview, Ms Tamhankar provided valuable insights on how to manage academic stress, extra curriculars and their time efficiently to maximize productivity. Through the use of personal anecdotes and stories, she connected with the students on a personal level.

The interview with her provided a glimpse into the life of a successful graduate who has leveraged her education and experiences to make a meaningful impact in her field of study.
