Lower Secondary – Grades 6 to 8
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme curriculum includes Information Communication Technology, Humanities, The Arts and Languages taught in years 6 to 8, compiled by our team of experts from around the world.
It equips your child with the skills and knowledge they will require when they reach the next stage of education – IGCSE.
Living in a global society, your child will develop a larger sense of the world. Each subject is studied from a global perspective, making children globally aware.
We encourage your child to take responsibility for his / her own learning and to develop effective communication skills. All students will be given frequent opportunities to conduct independent research and to get feedback in a variety of ways from their peers.
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme provides excellent preparation for students embarking on IGCSE in Years 9 and 10.
Checkpoint Tests
In November of Grade 8 students can sit for the Cambridge Checkpoint tests. These tests provide invaluable feedback to you, as parents, and to us, as custodians of your child’s individual strengths and areas of development.
The information acquired from these not only allows us to advise you and your child of the suitability of different progression routes, it also provides the teachers for years 9 and 10 the information to focus on your child’s individual areas of weakness and areas of strength.
After the checkpoint tests in Grade 8, students will make their choice, in consultation with teachers, parents and counsellors to study the International programme (IGCSE).
