DPGA > CAS Activities > Halloween Fiesta 2019

Halloween Day was celebrated on 22nd October, 2019.

On October 22, 2019, IBDP students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel organised the “Halloween fiesta” as a part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) project. Students from grades 6 and above came dressed as their favourite monsters and movie characters. The day was filled with fun events designed to bring out the creative side of the students. Different activities like The Sixth Sense: treasure hunt, Reveal your Talons: talent show, Ready for Dr. Frankenstein 2.0?: a trivia based on horror movies and Greek mythology! Bloody Delicious: a fun way of cooking up trouble in a creative way.

The theme of this fun filled event was body parts! Participants came up with many unique ideas such as a brain cut out from a peeled watermelon, and fingers made of sausages and many more. A photo booth had also been set up for non-participants.

Indeed, it was an extremely enjoyable day and proved to be a perfect opportunity for the students to break away from their rigourous routine.

There was a lot of detailed planning involved in this imaginative event that allowed students to revisit their childhood again. This planning did take many weekends in order to take the event to perfection. There were many obstacles faced by the planning committee but with the support of the teaching faculty, everything was conducted smoothly.

Apart from the main core organisers, many workers behind the scene aided the success of this event. The art team helped with procuring the decoration for the photo booth.

In order to incorporate some of our traditional Indian virtues in this internationally celebrated day of Halloween, we decided to have a potluck where students could gather in their classrooms and feast with their fellow classmates and teachers. This was one of the most enjoyable part of the day where students had great fun while eating homemade food alongside their friends and talked and sang in harmony before getting ready for the rest of the day’s events.
