DPGA > Celebrations > Independence Day 2020

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”

– Nelson Mandela

We, at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, believe that development and growth is facilitated by Freedom. Even in these unprecedented times of COVID-19, Independence Day was celebrated at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation and the ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ Campaign, our Chief Janitor Mr. Birender, along with our Principal, Ms. Shraddha Sardesai and Mr. Atul Fadake unfurled our tricolour. They saluted the flag and sang the National Anthem, expressing the joy of our freedom. We express our thoughts of gratitude towards those who make it possible for us to live our lives with peace, dignity and pride as citizens of a self-reliant India.

No work is superior or inferior and dignity can only be achieved through hard-work. Man has been working since the dawn of civilisation. Each and every kind of work deserves respect and value. We, in an Independent India, talk about the basic rights bestowed on humans. The question we need to ponder on is – do the working class people / labourers get to enjoy these basic rights? Dignity of labour must be practiced and appreciated. It plays a crucial part in the smooth functioning of the society. The Industrial Age did send across a wave, interchanging the rights of the working class and giving rise to industrial workers. However, if the manufacturing of the essential goods stop – even for a few days – the entire nation will suffer a severe setback. We should recognise that the labour community is protected. Every person contributes towards the smooth functioning of the society. The entire community is dependent on each other. No profession is high or low, dignified or undignified. It is the way in which we choose to perceive it and pursue it. There is no substitute for Hard-work, no matter in which sector an individual works! To quote Martin Luther King Jr. “No work is insignificant. All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and independence and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”
