Early Years Upper – Parents Day 2017 Celebrations

Parents’ involvement in a child’s healthy all round development is crucial. To honour them for their love, dedication and sacrifice for their children, on Saturday, 22nd July 2017, the Early Years Section of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, brought in the Parent’s Day with joyous celebrations. At the reception, children presented hand-made welcome flowers to the arriving parents. The celebrations began with a warm welcome extended to the parents by their Curriculum Head Ms. Namrata Saxena, expressing words of appreciation to the parents for all that they do to provide a safe, secure and happy environment for their children.

“The quickest way for a parent to get a child’s attention is to sit down and look comfortable” – it was with this thought, the school organized special activities in which the kids and parents together could take part in. The first activity ‘Creativity Blast’ saw parents and children together decorating a Photo frame. There was nostalgia among parents and excitement among children to be doing this activity together. Super-bonding and super-fun was the whole game of this activity. Parents then clicked pictures on this occasion to be framed in the photo frame to cherish this memory forever. With food for mind, now was the turn for the feast with the second activity, ‘The Sandwich Chefs’. Everyone was very excited to make the sandwiches and involvement of families to make sandwiches instilled the most required family values among children. The celebrations were enjoyed with delicious self-made sandwich breakfast for all along with some hot beverages and cookies along the rains.

The celebrations came to an end with the thanksgiving session. “God could not be everywhere, and so he made parents” – were the lines which instilled a sense of gratitude among children towards their parents and at this note, a pre-recorded video of children thanking their parents in class-time was showcased. It was a very touching moment as parents heard their kids singing “Mumma and Dadda I love you” and “I thank you Mom and Dad for everything you do for me” etc. Then the Principal was called on to speak a few words and she thanked each and every parent who came and joined with so much love and enthusiasm. At the end many parents left with wonderful messages of gratitude for the school for making Parent’s Day so meaningful by giving them this opportunity to spend such good time with their children and also for making it a cherished day to have received so much appreciation and thanking words from their children. Wishing them “Happy Parents Day”, the teachers and students cheered the parents as they all bid good-bye.
