The Sports day was held on the 13th December, 2014 for Grades 1 – 12. The event was declared open by Ms. Ayonika Paul – International Rifle shooter. The event began with a colorful pom-pom drill by the students of grades 1 and 2. The atmosphere was very exciting with the house members cheering and shouting out slogans to boost the morale of the participants from their houses. At the same time, the athletes tried their best to run as fast as possible in order to achieve the best result for their houses.
Sapphire house won on the day with a lead of just 8 points at 112 points. Topaz house was at the second position with 104 points, followed by Ruby with 101 points and Emerald with 99 points. The following students were adjudged as best athletes in their respective divisions.
Overall it was a successful day with effective participation of parents. Bhangra dance performed by the students of grades 3, 4 and 5 marked the closing ceremony of the event. Each year sports day is getting bigger and better and the Sports Department is always on the lookout for new ideas and new events to make the event even more interesting in the future.
