DPGA > CAS Activities > Visit to Usarli Village

Students of Grades 11 and 12 visited Usarli Village near Panvel on 21st July as part of the school’s CAS initiative. The purpose of this visit was to understand how the process of rice cultivation works. The rice was sown two weeks before this visit, to allow it sufficient time to grow and develop into small shoots. These shoots were then transplanted into a specially developed field.

During the visit, the students saw the process of ploughing and weeding the field. They had hands on experience in the tedious process of planting the shoot in the muddy field. They understood that the rice that reaches our tables is a result of hard work on many levels! The visit made the students sensitive to the gifts that come their way without effort!
