Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel goes unmanned…

Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel once again proved its vision and approach towards holistic development by introducing Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) training to its students. The programme started with a demo of an educational aeromodel to spread awareness about unmanned aviation among the students. Dream, passion and interest of seven students thus made them join “Dare-to-Fly – Cadet Unmanned Aviator Course” during extended curricular activities period. The training was being conducted by Aeroics Aviations Pvt. Ltd.

“Dare to Fly – Cadet Unmanned Aviator” course is just a stepping stone for a child’s hidden potential to explore the whole new world of Unmanned Aviation. The course is perfectly designed by incorporating NASA’s guidelines and 20 years of experience of instructors of Aeroics Aviations during their Indian Naval Aviation. Course activities are derived in a way so as to help the child explore his / her capabilities to the fullest possible limit. It also involves parents in order to encourage parent-child interaction.

Apart from theory and practical on aviation, the course also deals with personality development of the students. Biographies of Wright Brothers and Bleriot help them understand the personality traits that are required to be successful in life.

Every student who underwent this course was awarded with a course certificate. This is to appreciate the interest and effort of the students. Aeroics also outlined three special prizes during the course activity. This is just to ensure that the efforts put in by students are not gone unseen and also to maintain a healthy competition between them. Above all the motto behind these awards is to make them aware of their special skills which, if nurtured well, can do wonders in their future life.

The first award, the Best Researcher Award went to Master Rutik Patil. The award of Best Pilot Reflex was given to Master Tanish Shelar and the Best Aero modeller award went to Miss Ishita Deshmukh.

Unmanned aviation need not merely be an extra-curricular activity but could also be a career. Thus the experience was very valuable to all the learners.
