50 Golden Years of MES
The year 2020 marked the successful completion of 50 golden years of Mahatma Education Society. On 13th February 2020, Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, joined the series of ongoing celebrations to commemorate this occasion with a plethora of events in its premises. The day was graced with the presence of esteemed Founder and Chairman of Pillai Group of Institution Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai, Cofounder and Secretary Dr. Daphne Pillai, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Priam Pillai, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Franav Pillai, Management Representative Ms. Mabel Pillai along with the Director of the school Dr. Latha Venkataraman and the Principal Mrs. Shraddha Sardesai.
The day began with an engaging art exhibition displaying paintings. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Daphne Pillai and Ms. Mabel Pillai with the lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries appreciated the wide aggregation of mood, imagination and creativity of the artist depicted in her art pieces.
The celebration continued with a vibrant cultural presentation, loaded with an array of dance, song and orchestra presented by the students and teachers of the school under the guidance of the PA department.
The school welcomed its dignitaries with a momento and a heartful introduction. The event started with a musical treat for the audience in the form of a harmonious orchestra, including students playing guitar, violin and drums in a complete consonance. The synchronised presentation left the audience totally mesmerised. This was followed up with a medley of songs from different era presented by none other than the schools own teacher’s choir. The assortment of dances presented by the young dancers left the audience asking for more. Dr. Vasudevan Pillai and Dr. Daphne Pillai appreciated and motivated the school by shared excerpts from their journey of establishing and Developing MES and Pillai Group of Institutions.
Unveiling of Banner
The dignitaries were escorted to the open field through a well-coordinated slow march by council members for the unveiling of Banner. At the end of the count down the golden jubilee banner depicting 50 years completion of MES Institutions was unveiled on the school building, in the presence of the board of directors, teachers, parents and the students of the school. The energy, excitement, jubilation and continuous applauses marked a grand closing of the event
