For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail?

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freedom facilitates development and growth. The community of students, teachers and parents celebrated Independence Day in a befitting manner in the school campus on 15th August, 2014 to commemorate freedom and its immense possibilities.

The programme involved salutation of the flag and the flag song and cultural events interlaced with patriotic fervour which impressed everyone in the audience. Mrs. Vaishali, staff member spoke about the value of freedom. Principal Mrs. Anjna Sahi addressed the audience and reiterated the school’s commitment to every child and its mission to enable every child to optimise his/ her potential so that they become worthy citizens of the country. The highlight of the function was a satirical street play presented by the students of middle and senior grades exposing the corruption prevalent in many segments in the society. The patriotic songs sung by the school choir and a dance performance to the tunes of a patriotic song by the students of Grade 7 impressed the audience. A violin recital by Pranav Gudimetla under the guidance of Mrs. Mabel Chan Pillai was also appreciated by everyone in the audience. The toppers of the IGCSE batch whose results were declared on 13th August were felicitated in the function. This celebration of the success of a few served as a reminder to the other students to set high goals and achieve them with hard work.
