The art of debate is not in winning an argument, but in understanding the weight of words and the power they carry.

The PG Model United Nations 2025, held on 6th and 7th December, was a two-day celebration of diplomacy, dialogue, and critical thought. Organised by the IBDP Year 1 students, the conference provided a dynamic platform for young delegates to engage with global, national, and philosophical issues through informed debate. The event commenced on an auspicious note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge and unity, followed by a graceful classical solo dance that set a dignified and reflective tone. This was followed by addresses from the Principal, Director General, Secretary General, and Deputy Secretary General, who highlighted the relevance of discourse, leadership, and responsible expression in an increasingly complex world. With the formal introduction of the Executive Board, the committees were declared open, and deliberations began. PG MUN 2025 featured a diverse range of committees, each designed to challenge delegates intellectually. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) examined the environmental and economic consequences of deep-sea mining. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) addressed the critical issue of maintaining international peace while promoting maritime security in the South China Sea.
The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) engaged in a detailed discussion on Article 19(1)(a), analysing the freedom of speech and expression within a democratic framework. Adding a contemporary and unconventional dimension, the Anime Committee deliberated on the actions of Kira and the role of non-state actors, exploring themes of justice, morality, and power. The Indian Mythology Committee reflected on the true meaning of dharma and karma in the Mahabharata, drawing timeless ethical parallels to modern-day dilemmas. Over the span of two intellectually immersive days, the debates across committees were marked by depth, intensity, and thoughtful engagement. Committee rooms echoed with well-researched arguments, strategic diplomacy, and moments of sharp yet respectful disagreement. As discussions progressed, delegates displayed growth in
confidence, clarity, and adaptability, navigating complex agendas with increasing precision. The extended duration of the conference allowed ideas to evolve, alliances to form, and resolutions to be shaped through meaningful collaboration. These debates embodied the true spirit of MUN—not merely to speak, but to listen, challenge, and understand.
PG MUN 2025 stood as a testament to the dedication of the organising team and the enthusiasm of its delegates. More than a conference, it was a space where ideas were questioned, perspectives were broadened, and dialogue proved once again to be the most powerful instrument of change.
