Early Years Cultural Fest 2018 – ‘Alien’s Day Out’

The Early Years Cultural Fest 2018 – Alien’s Day Out at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, was held on Saturday, 7th April 2018 in the school auditorium. It was a day to celebrate, cheer the past achievements and look forward to the journey ahead!

The day started with a morning prayer by Early Years Upper student Ms Sarah Nagare followed by a welcome address by the school Director Dr. Latha Venkataraman. She congratulated parents for being part of the DPGA family and expressed pleasure in sharing the achievements of the school. Mrunal Tamhankar from IGCSE secured the World Topper position in International Mathematics at the 2017 exams. Aishwarya Sridhar has been the World Topper in Business Studies in the past. She applauded the efforts taken by students and the teachers of the school in building the environment of success.

Principal Ms. Shraddha Sardesai spoke on the importance of Early Years Education for nurturing the potential of each child. In this regard she highlighted the child-friendly methodologies followed in the school bringing about the all-round development of each child for successful years of schooling ahead.

This was then followed by the most awaited premiere show ‘Alien’s Day Out’.With a grand opening to this movie, the story began with an unknown spacecraft that takes off accidentally because of a boisterous alien baby (Lupy) and lands on earth in India. ‘Alien’s Day Out’ was a journey travelogue of these Aliens who go around the world seeing the rich culture of each place. The movie was a beautiful blend of technology through the animated movie creation along with well-synchronized performances of children showcasing important fests of each country.

Ms. Namrata Saxena, the Programme Director for Early Years- MES, appreciated the programme and efforts taken by the school. Further she apprised the audience about the recent visit by various Press reporters to the school for being the first IB and Cambridge school of Navi Mumbai and for producing World Toppers over the years. She shared the press coverage received by the school in various newspapers.

This was then followed by prize distribution for the little ones. The Early Years students of DPGA bagged several prizes in various competitions such as solo dance; recitation and so on in an inter school competition organized by the Rhythms Group.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
