Expressions by Markus Schmid

The teachers of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel attended Expressions, an International Workshop on Creative and Developmental Dramatics for Teachers and Trainers on 23rd January, 2016. The workshop was organized by Helen O’Grady International and conducted by Markus Schmid, the award winning master of mime from CIE Andrayas, Switzerland.

Markus kept his audience mesmerized as he discussed the different types of mime and highlighted the difference between mime and pantomime. He drew attention to the motivational role that mime / movement / gestures play in the classroom. He emphasized on the need for students to become more aware of the expressiveness of their bodies and to interact and communicate much more effortlessly.

The workshop focused on encouraging teachers to use various modes of non-verbal communication effectively in the classroom and motivate their students to develop a positive and confident self image.
